Sol, also known as Solanaceae, Solane, Solana or a custom name is the player character and an inhabitant of the Colony who arrived on Vertumna aboard the Stratospheric.
History[]
Sol spent the first ten years of their life aboard the Stratospheric with their family. At the age of six, they begin developing signs of their genetic enhancement, which can be chosen by the player. When the Stratospheric makes its wormhole leap towards Vertumna, Sol sustains a head injury and spend two weeks asleep in the colony's medbay.
They have strange, vivid dreams throughout their childhood, and realize after landing on Vertumna that these dreams may be prophetic - though their premonitions don't always come true.

Sol's personality, interests and occupation are defined by the player's choices.
Sol can either present as feminine, non-binary or masculine, which can be changed by the player anytime over the course of the game. This choice only affects Sol's appearance in the adult stage and doesn't affect the child and teenager stages.

Young Sol is curious, loves exploring, and is close to their parents, particularly their father.
Their prophetic dreams influence their behavior, particularly their fears of future ship disasters, monsters, and deaths. They struggle to decide whether to reveal their premonitions or keep their visions to themselves.

Sol is the only child of Flulu and Geranium.
Sol's friends are defined by the player's choices.
Sol can pursue romantic relationships with any of the dateable characters depending on the player's choices.

- Sol is named after the planetary system where the wormhole entrance is located.
- The name Solanaceae comes from the family of plants also known as nightshades. This is referenced when Geranium calls the player "[his] little tomatohead" tomatoes being a part of the solanaceae family.[2]
