Rex is one of the romanceable options of I Was A Teenage Exocolonist, and becomes a member of the Vertumna Colony after the landing of the Heliopause in early pollen season of year 15.

The player can gain friendship with Rex by giving him mushwood logs or cakes. If you have delivered supplies for Command at least once after the Heliopause has landed, you can unlock a dialogue where you may choose to help Rex with work in construction. Working construction in Command will raise friendship with Rex, as well as the player's Toughness and Engineering stats. Once per season, you can hug Rex to gain friendship with him.
After gaining enough friendship with him, Rex will tell Sol about his plans to build a bar as a place for people to have fun in the colony. He will ask Sol to bring him any logs they find. If the player gives him at least 10 logs, they will unlock the Bar. After having built the bar in a single game life, the next lives will only take half as many logs to build through a new dialogue option. Upon opening the bar, if the player has at least 66 Empathy and relaxes in the lounge, you will unlock an event where Instance comes in and claims that the colony needs a barista, and tells you that "even you" could do it.
If you choose to date Rex, he will always be polyamorous, and if you ask him to for a monogamous relationship he will break up with you.
