I Was a Teenage Exocolonist Wiki

When I got here, I remember looking at your huge media library and thinking, wow, galactic! I'm never gonna run out of things to watch! It felt like... the whole world was still ahead of me, ready to be discovered.

Now it feels like everything's just... on fire all the time, and everyone is always on my case about how I need to grow up. What's so bad about being innocent! Why does everything have to be so grim all the time!

Nomi-Nomi to Sol, nomi3ShowSad

Nomi-Nomi arrives on Vertumna IV at the end of the second month of Quiet in year 15, when the Heliopause lands.

Personality[]

Teenager[]

Nomi-Nomi is a energetic and cheerful teenager who has a obvious interest with drawing, code, and exploring. With their loud and boisterous personality, you'd expect them to be never able to calm down, but they're able to go quiet if asked. When Sol first meets Nomi-Nomi, if Sol asks them to calm down, they say that Rex jokes that their superpower is 'boundless enthusiasm'.

They're pretty normal to the idea of people not wanting to sit with them because of their high-energy. Despite their chatty and friendly nature, they're not very close to many of the Helios except for Rex. The Helios kids don't seem very fond of Nomi-Nomi. Nomi-Nomi barely interacts with any of the Helios and is usually isolated from most of them, opting to sit by themselves if their other friends aren't around.

Nomi-Nomi's a very creative and artistic person, as they're seen drawing and coming up with ideas quite often. There's a chance that you might catch Marz holding Nomi-Nomi's sketchbook and seeing their drawings. They can be seen as cheeky and maybe even childish at times. They can be caught doing things that can be seen as childish, but they don't really care. Whatever's fun, is fun! They're pretty bold with whatever they set off to do; though this can lead them to pretty tricky situations at times, which can lead them to trouble. Nomi-Nomi can find things difficult to learn at times; which they are aware of, which can make them doubt themselves. They're specifically trying to find something they're naturally good at.

They're very upbeat and excited when they first land on Vertumna, as they're seen being amazed of the outside world quite often. They gawk at the fact that water can fall from the sky and the fact that the sky goes on forever.

Adult[]

Nomi-Nomi's personality does not change much as a adult. They're still very much a chatterbox and still seem to be distanced from the Helios, but there are slight changes in their personality.

At this point, they've gotten used to Vertumna and no longer is shocked at every single little thing. (idk what else to add help)

Nomi-Nomi and Dys become friends despite their massive differences. At first, Dys wasn't very fond of Nomi-Nomi. The two became close due to the fact that they both have similar interests; such as aliens, and can be seen together in expeditions or the robotic lab. Nomi even calls him  a 'sweetheart' once.

Events[]

Friendship Events[]

Zero Friendship[]

Right when the Helios lands you can talk to Nomi. You can challenge them to a game of Laser Fable. If you win the following combat challenge you get 2 Friendship with them and 1 Kudo. If you fail the challenge you can pay them 1 Kudo and still get the 2 Friendship.

Ten Friendship[]

You run into Nomi watching cartoons on their Holoscreen. You have 3 dialogue options that all lead to the same result, but “Aren’t we a little old for cartoons?” Gives -2 friendship with Nomi. Next you have 4 dialogue options about Turbogirl Hyperjet Transform. They all lead to the same result. “That sounds like total Garbo” predictably gives -2 Friendship with Nomi. Next you have 3 dialogue choices all lead to the same result but, “That sounds exquisitely bad” gives -2 Friendship with Nomi (But cannot be chosen if you say you love THT). Next you receive Nomi’s Enthusiasm 1 and have 4 final choices. Asking “What kind of aircraft would you be?” requires 21 Empathy and gives +2 Friendship with them. The other choices all end the event.

Twenty Friendship[]

Nomi tells you about how they're making a story using the Xenos on Vertumna. You have 3 dialogue choices which each lead to the same final dialogue. “That Sounds Cool” gives you 2 choices; “I remember that part” gives +2 Friendship with Nomi, “I have no idea” does nothing, both leading to the final dialogue. “Faceless would never help real people” gives you 2 choices; neither does anything and will go to the final dialogue after them. “That’s not what real Xenos look like” leads straight to the final dialogue. The final dialogue gives 2 choices; “I’d love to” requires Creativity 30 or greater, “I don’t want to be associated with this” gives -2 Friendship with Nomi. The event ends after this choice.

If you choose “I’d love to”, after the Month ends you will get an event to read the story and you get 25 Kudos from Nomi

Thirty Friendship[]

You encounter Nomi scrolling through a list of movies holding a big plushie. You have 2 dialogue choices that don’t matter. Next you have 4 dialogue choices. 1. “This isn’t about the show is it?” requires 31 Empathy and leads to 2 choices;”Sometimes the truth is hard to accept” gives -2 Friendship and ends the event, “I get that. It’s hard” ends the event. 2. “Maybe we can make up a new ending” gives +2 Friendship and +1 Creativity and gives 3 choices; “There will be more good experiences” gives 5 Loyalty, “Don’t dwell on your expectations” ends the event, “Life’s hard, Get over it” gives 5 Rebellion. Choosing 3. “Sounds rough buddy” ends the event, choosing 4. “They’re just Holoshows” gives -2 Friendship with Nomi and ends the event.

Fourty Friendship[]

Nomi accidentally runs into you, giving +3 Stress. You have 3 dialogue options, saying “Watch where you’re going” ends the event early. “Your enhancement isn’t super agility” gives -2 friendship with Nomi, choosing this option or “Don’t event worry about it” will give 3 more options. Nomi tells you they don’t even know if they have a genetic enhancement. You have 3 options, “Ugh, that sucks” ends the event early. The other 2 continue the event, giving 3 choices. “Everyone sucks at first” or “Sucks to suck” ends the event, while “You don’t suck at looking stellar hot” gives you -2 Friendship with Nomi, flirts with them, and ends the event.

Fifty Friendship[]

This event only triggers if you are 17 or older. Rex tells you Nomi is playing Legends of Avamar. You message them on the holopalm and are able to join and play with them. Choosing “I don’t have time for this” immediately ends the event. The class you choose doesn’t really matter. You can choose to call Nomi’s character cute which flirts with them. After, you see the Nomi’s RPG Chara illustration. Next you can choose to talk goofy, if you “Forsooth, I Do!” You get +2 friendship with Nomi. Next Nomi will give you a necklace as a present. The choices don’t really matter but you can choose to flirt with them. Next you have a combat challenge facing Graz Magepelt. Succeeding/Failing doesn’t matter and it leads to 3 choices, you can basically just choose to flirt with them or not. Now you log off and message them, giving 3 dialogue choices. All 3 lead to the same but choosing “So… wanna meet up and do that in person” gives -2 friendship with Nomi. Next you have 3 choices, “Oh I feel that way too” leads to another set of 3 choices, these don’t matter but “Like Me?” flirts with Nomi. The other 2 choices end the event. At the end of this event you will receive the Nomi’s Enthusiasm II card.

Sixty Friendship[]

Nomi will ask you what you want to do when you grow up. The first choice doesn’t matter (Maybe it affects what ending you get? Not sure). If you choose “The colony needs people like that” the event ends. Choosing this option also allows you to get Nomi’s 100 event (Not 100% about this if anyone can show otherwise please correct me) If you choose “We need to focus on survival first” you get another dialogue option. “There’s no room for error, Nomi” will give +1 Colony defense. “I hadn’t thought about it like that” does nothing. “Don’t be so childish” gives +1 Colony Defense and -2 Friendship with Nomi-Nomi.

Seventy Friendship[]

Nomi asks you for help with painting their living quarters. The first choice you basically can only choose “Why not a different thing on each wall?” Which Nomi ecstatically agrees with. Next you have 3 choices when they ask for help. If you have Creativity 41 or greater you can choose “Totally, I know what to do” this and “Sure, I’ll try my best” will give +2 Friendship with Nomi and 1 Creativity. While “I’ll just watch” gives +1 empathy. After any of these choices you go get some grub with Nomi and the event ends.

Eighty Friendship[]

You find Nomi making a drawing on actual paper in the lounge. They seem very embarrassed and no matter what you choose they will run away. None of the choices have any benefit or negatives.

At the end of 2 months later you get an event explaining how Nomi drew a picture of 2 people riding a Unisaur and put it on the colony message board. After, you can talk to them(No chat bubble appears next to Nomi for some reason) and get the option the ask about the picture or don’t bring it up. If you “Don’t bring it up” the event ends. If you ask “So about that picture you posted…” you can choose to say it’s a picture of Nomi and you or Nomi and Rex. If you choose “It’s a picture of you and me, isn’t it?” then “Nomi… I like you too!” then “That’s Fine!” and you have flirted enough with Nomi, you can start dating them. If you choose Rex, or you haven’t flirted with them enough to date, Nomi asks for your advice about dating Rex. The first choice doesn’t matter. Next you can can either say “Rex wouldn’t make you uncomfortable” or “This has ‘bad idea’ written all over it”. The next month you can talk to Nomi again, if you choose the first option Nomi and Rex will start dating. (This event might only trigger at age 17 and above since usually that’s when dating can start, but idk if it’s even possible to get 80 friendship with Nomi before 17.)

One Hundred Friendship[]

I believe to get this event to trigger you need to choose “The colony needs people like that” for Nomi’s 60 Friendship event.

First, you find Nomi sleeping. Letting them sleep will end the event early. If you wake them you have 4 dialogue choices. Choosing 1. “The work’s not going to do itself” gives 2 choices, choosing to playing the game gives an organizing challenge, winning or losing doesn’t matter, while choosing “No. Get back to work” gives -2 friendship with Nomi, after this the event ends. Choosing 2. “Is there anything I can do to help gives 4 choices; Going for a walk gives -25 stress, cuddling flirts with Nomi and gives -30 stress also Rex shows up, “Imagine that. Writing a game is hard work” gives -2 Friendship, after any of these the event ends, while choosing “How about a game instead gives another set of 2 choices, “Wait, I have a better idea…” requires 31 perception and has you play Twister with Nomi and Marz, while “Let’s Play!” does an Organizing challenge, winning or losing doesn’t matter. Choosing 3. “I’m sure you’ll finish it eventually…” ends the event.

No matter what you choose, 2 months later you get the Nomi’s First Game illustration and get to play through a mini game of Nomi’s game. I recommend playing it, there’s a lot of funny stuff and it’s kind of an allusion to the story of Exocolonist itself. If you fail can restart from the beginning as many times as you want, but if you choose give up once or win, the event ends. There’s a couple different endings you can get. At the end of the event there are 3 dialogue options that don’t matter. After this, you get Nomi’s Enthusiasm III card and will unlock the cheevo and steam achievement, as well as getting Nomi on the title screen.

Expedition Events[]

Nomi-Nomi, Sol, and their first Expedition[]

This event is fairly short. Nomi-Nomi is introduced to Sol by Utopia, and if they both know eachother then they'll happily smile to Sol. If not, then Nomi-Nomi will awkwardly wave at them. Utopia asks Sol to keep an eye out for Nomi-Nomi out in the wild, as they're new. Sol can say two things; "Yay, hooray!" causes Nomi-Nomi to cheer and give them a high-five, also giving them 2+ friendship with Nomi-Nomi. "Uh, hooray, i guess" causes Sol to lose 2- friendship with Nomi-Nomi, as they are uncomfortable with their tone.

Nomi-Nomi then almost falls into a nest of hopeyes, Utopia warning her at the last second. They giggle and Utopia just makes Sol and Nomi-Nomi go back to their work.

Nomi-Nomi, Sol, and the Balneal[]

To get this event, Sol must have gotten all of the other Nomi-Nomi expedition events. They find Nomi-Nomi watching a balneal, and they ask Sol if they'd be able to ride it. Sol then gets a few options; "I can't let you do that" makes Sol lose 2- friendship with Nomi-Nomi, they're dissapointed but respect their advice. Nomi-Nomi will try to ride the balneal anyways, but it ends in failure and they laugh it off, the event then ends. "I'll help!" makes Nomi-Nomi cheer, and they skedaddle off. In a split second, they already have a rope around the balneal's neck. "Whatever, Nomi" causes Sol to just watch the thing, only for Nomi-Nomi to already have a rope around the Balneal's neck. If you choose those two options, then the event gets to continue. Sol gets 3 choices:

Trying to hold the ropes will cause a card challenge to happen. If Sol loses, the balneal will splash them with a huge wave of mud, which causes them to slip into the muck and get absolutely wrecked by the animal, Sol gets 50+ stress from this. Nomi-Nomi notices that Sol needs help, then hops off to check on them. When they realize Sol is fine, they say that at least they both have proof that Nomi-Nomi isn't bad-bad at exploring. If Sol wins, then they get 2+ friendship with Nomi-Nomi and the balneal tolerates Nomi-Nomi riding them. Calming down the balneal if Sol has 50+ animal skill will also end in that result.

Nomi-Nomi, Dys, Sol, and the weirdo crystal[]

Sol stumbles upon Nomi-Nomi and Dys arguing on what to do with a crystal. Nomi-Nomi wants to crack open the crystal to see what's inside, while Dys is against this because he worries that it's alive and could mess up the ecological balance. If Sol decides to leave it, they will lose 2+ friendship with Nomi-Nomi and gain 2+ friendship with Dys. After this, Nomi-Nomi complains and stomps off, causing Dys to say that anything Nomi-Nomi wants to do will end up wrong.

If Sol cracks it open, then they will learn that the crystal was very much a living creature. They'll lose 2- friendship with Dys, while gaining 2+ friendship with Nomi. Dys will run off, which causes Nomi-Nomi to feel guilty, and Sol gets 3 options; "Be my guest" causes Sol to gain more animal skill, but Nomi-Nomi's too afraid to run after Dys themselves, so they say and watch uncomfortably as Sol takes readings of the dead animal. "I think we should go find him" just causes Sol to get 10+ stress, and the two of them don't find Dys. "He'll be fine" reassures Nomi-Nomi and the two of them happily analyzing the thing from the egg, and the two of them forget about Dys. Roping Utopia into it gives Sol 5+ kudos, but they lose 2- friendship with Dys, he doesn't seem very happy about it.

If Sol has more than 30 skill in animals, then they can scan it for a heartbeat. They'll gain 2+ friendship with Nomi-Nomi, and they will be delighted. The three of them then leave it happily at that.

Nomi-Nomi, Dys, Sol, and the villanous blobgrass[]

Sol meets Nomi-Nomi and Dys, as Utopia assigned them both to investigate more about blobgrass. Dys is everything that Nomi is not, but Nomi-Nomi still manages to pull a giggle out of Dys with their Seeq impression.

Sol's arrival accidently surprises Nomi-Nomi, causing them to slip down and fall in knee-deep into a puddle of blobgrass. It's not dangerous, but they're still stuck. With that, Sol has 2 options; trying to help Nomi-Nomi just ends up making Sol gaining 10+ stress and getting stuck alongside Nomi-Nomi, which makes them invite Dys in the puddle (he declines), and Sol is embarassed by their messy rescue attempt. Thinking Nomi-Nomi can handle it makes them get even more stuck. Regardless of what Sol chooses, the two end up back on solid ground (If they think Nomi-Nomi can handle it, Dys pulls them out. If they try to help Nomi-Nomi, they both flounder to shore).

Nomi-Nomi finds the whole situation amusing and laughs, Dys asks them how they're able to do these things and not be embarassed. Now, this causes them to be embarassed. They explain that they're aware that they're not very good at anything, and that no one can really make fun of them for it, if what they're saying is true. This makes Dys think for a while, and he says he never thought of it that way.

Dys cleans up Nomi-Nomi's face with a cloth, and Sol gets 2 options; If they stay politely quiet, then Nomi-Nomi and Dys awkwardly shuffle back to their work. If they interrupt, then Sol will lose 2- friendship with Dys and gain 2 friendship with Nomi-Nomi. Sol does this because they feel a bit jealous and left out, Dys is mildly annoyed by this, and Nomi-Nomi seems unaware of it all.

Nomi-Nomi, Dys, Sol, and teams[]

Sol meets up with the pair and Nomi-Nomi explains that them and Dys are mapping out the lake and are taking water samples. They also got drones to use, cool! Nomi-Nomi suggests that they should all split up, and Sol gets 3 choices, all with different outcomes;

Choosing Nomi-Nomi causes Sol to gain 2 friendship with them, the two then set off and play around with the drones. They take turns, and eventually it's Nomi-Nomi's turns... the drone then proceeds to get snatched by a weird furry-gecko-thing with a large tongue. When Sol tries to approach it, they just get slashed by it's sharp tongue. Sol will then have to come up with a plan, which is a card challenge. If Sol loses, then they decide that the two will just rush towards the creature, which isn't a good plan. They get lashed by the tongue a bunch of times, but it eventually gives up when it realizes that the two aren't edible. Sol gains 15+ stress, gains more animal skills, and gets 2+ friendship with Nomi-Nomi since they're so impressed! Success? If Sol wins, then they will use Nomi-Nomi as bait as it's attracted to movement. When the creature is distracted, they quickly snatch the drone back, Sol also gains more animal skills. Nomi-Nomi says that Sol's plan was brilliant, and they gain 2+ friendship with Nomi-Nomi. Nomi-Nomi then will suggest getting a break, so the two of them have a little picnic together.

Choosing Dys causes Sol to lose friendship with Nomi-Nomi and makes them dissapointed. Dys is pretty dissapointed by this, as he wanted to go alone. The two then use the survery drone normally, then it dissapears. Sol will then have to try and find it once more, which is a card challenge. If Sol loses, then Dys will just find it himself. This gives Sol +5 stress and more perception. If Sol wins, then they'll find the missing item, causing Dys to feel impressed. This gives Sol more perception and 2+ friendship with Dys. Dys will then fish the drone out of the water, and Nomi-Nomi pops up around the corner. They jokingly say that they thought they were the one that would need rescuing, but not this time! This gives Sol 2+ friendship with Dys, as he laughs and congratulates Nomi-Nomi on their succesful solo mission. Nomi-Nomi then suggests all of them to take a break with a picnic, and the trio have a good time together. Dys almost seems comfortable with Sol and Nomi-Nomi.

Sol choosing to go by themselves causes Dys and Nomi-Nomi to off together. Sol swears they can see Dys looking dissapointed, but brushes it off. Things go normally, until they lose track of the drone. Sol scurries over to see what happens, but sees the drone in the middle of the path, but it has a red pop flower between it's wings. Sol will then notice a rustle of trees in their right, and notices a figure that's too tall to be Nomi-Nomi or Dys (spoiler: it's Sym). Despite this creeping them out, they just grab the drone and get on with it. Sol will then gain 10+ kudos, but notice Dys and Nomi-Nomi together, seemingly having a good time. They can't help but feel a twinge of jealousy, but at least they don't have to share the kudos.

Nomi-Nomi, Sol, and the Liar Flower[]

Sol is out on expeditions, when they hear a voice that sounds like Nomi-Nomi cry out for help. This gives Sol 2 options; they can stroll there, which doesn't cause anything to happen, or they can run there, giving them 5+ stress.

Regardless of what they choose, Sol will find Nomi-Nomi stuck in a Liar Flower, definitely about to get eaten alive. Sol will have to save Nomi-Nomi without getting them hurt in the process. A card challenge will then appear, and two things can happen; if Sol loses, Nomi-Nomi will get hit by the plascutter and bleed, but they won't die. Sol will then get thrown onto the ground by the Liar Flower, giving them 30+ stress and injuring them. If Sol wins, then they will slice Nomi out without injuring them, they will also gain 2+ friendship with Nomi-Nomi. Hooray!

Trivia[]

  • Nomi wears an emojiproji, as such some of their sprites feature "anime" effects such as sweat drops or floating hearts.
  • Nomi never breaks up with Sol. (I think this is false)
